Love's Abysmal Eyes
One dip into your eyes
And my itches get soothed
Just one dip
And I realize that in your depth,
Lies my anchorage!
Since when has one mere little dip
Been enough?
I shall thirst for more
And I shall grip you,
Claw at you,
So that your heart turns into an abyss
Into which I shall jump
Merely
To lose myself
From the drylands that I have been
Rooted on since the day I birthed!
