Lover's Moon

O lovers moon, hearken unto me
that thou might no longer assail me
with thy cool light
that light which burns hotly upon old
scars and nearly forgotten dreams
a light whose pale glow shines brightly
upon the emptiness which is my life

I pray thee hearken unto me O moon
let thy light be dimmed and thy fires quenched
that I might be hidden from the world
 and it from me.
