Lovers Line Up

“LOVERS LINE UP”

during those nights
they knew what it was
to be alone,
to hold onto their
thoughts,
to weep and wrap their
isolation inside their
tears.

during those nights
they made peace with
the loneliness that
made their thoughts
cry.

now these nights,
isolation is a memory,
they are each other’s
thoughts and the tears
fall for the heart that
sleeps just miles away.

these nights have become
that much more real.

tonight,
they miss each other
under the same sky.
