Lover's Knight

i come home at hours so late
my head is heavy and my eyes fall
the pillow is soft and the blankets warm
they caress me and surround me as i drift;
drift into dizzy sleep, and awake so tired,
open eyes i cannot keep
i move sluggishly about my space
i feel as if a dark veil is there
hanging in front of my tired face
nose is clogged, i can barely breath
time will come when i will sleep and dream
and that dream will be dreamt true
for when i dream; i dream of nobody but you.
you; with your satin skin that stretches over
strong bones, your hands caress my sleeping face
your lips are warm and hold warm breath,
dark hair sweeps across my cheeks
i feel like I've known you for long weeks.
this caress of you i feel till i wake
the light of you, the fluorescent does take
you shine with light so ever bright
when i saw you first, i knew, and i know...
you are my knight.
