Lover of Mine
Lover of mine, sweet bosom lover,
My heart trembles with every step we take,
Treading on a double edge blade.
With gentle love, caress this bleeding heart.
Fill this hollow skeleton with life,
Bring back the sunshine to these gloomy eyes.
And with a guilty blackened paw,
I’ll clutch onto your pure heart.
For if nothing more, I am faithful
As sure as black is white,
As sure as poor is rich,
And filthy is clean.
For with your love, there’s nary a thing,
A man could not accomplish!
