Lovelit

Dedicated to a poet whose work rekindled old love of place

Your lovelit brightness shone into my mind,
illuminating longing for what’s gone
from me since age sick eyes negated care
to stoke the fire once bright in youth and man,
and leave remaining just the ash of joy.

Then your life's breathing fed the cinder's flame,
ignites the warmth of memories again.
