Loveliest Path In the World
in autumn she is the loveliest path in the world
pumpkins line the doorways of the houses
some decorate with maize and gourds
We laugh as we walk down this path
in the rain, relishing October
in spring we travel the same path
frightened bunnies hide under bushes in the rain
We see them as we pass, they are frozen in place
We are careful to be silent, not wanting to frighten them
She is the loveliest path in the world in April too
