Loved Ones Around the Thanksgiving Table
The pitter-patter of rain strikes the window pane on this Thanksgiving Day.
Glimpsing around the decorated table that has brought us together as my grandson says grace. A blessing over the food that lays in front of us and the things we are grateful for in our own life. I pull the wooden bench and sit my three-year-old grandson beside me. I cannot help but look around wishing my husband was with us. He would make everyone laugh with his teasing and joking. He would have spoiled our grandson he never met, like he did all the others. I still go by the hospital on the way to my son’s home wanting to stop, pick him up and bring him home. How sad that we go through life never thinking we would grow old and miss so much. I would do anything to get those moments back. Almost all the people I’ve loved either changed or left our side. I think it’s okay remembering the past is the only thing we can do to keep those loved ones alive deep down in our heart.
love what was old times
weave best in your heart move forth
peace in this new life
