Loved Ones Are Not Troubles

Loved Ones Are Not Troubles

I always tried to understand my Loved Ones -
Look for reasons for this and that,
finding myself turning over and over
their complexities of character -
Sea-mind tumbling precious stones
over and over, time and again
till soft cool cover smooth...
Like reading a favorite book
lived with for so long, kept close at hand-
Special pages, in special chapters
thumbed, ear-marked, loose pages
from constant searching between the lines
for precious understanding
of a delicately written mind.

Tells me so much more,
And more to come...

It's not a passive standing back
that makes me stand beside
Self - willed, self chosen paths.
For then, and right now, I'm overjoyed
seeing the burnt tree, cut down
yet not destroyed, but resting, waiting...
It sends out hopeful shoots of new life.
It grows itself toward divine petrichor -
All it takes is love and patience
to realize that Loved Ones
are not too much trouble....

Except to those impatient
to quick fix a burnt out mind.

I really enjoyed this, felt this, saw my emotions in your lines. I do all I can via several different means to understand and aid the journeys of my loved ones. Glad I found your poem ... CayCay

Dearest Cay Cay, this was so life affirming, and encouraging to read. Without compassion, understanding, patience, there is no love. Yes, our Love for those closest to us can be very tender, even when being firm is required. It might take years to see stable changes, and we never give up hope. Sometimes the only way we can love someone, is by accepting the unchangeable. Thank you for your kind deeds to those who need it... Whether in little, or bigger ways. (((Warm Hugsxxxxx)))

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Have a blessed day.

Thank you Beata, for you loving comment, and spiritual concern, yes, I love the verse in John 3:16. God, Our Heavenly Father, loved us before we loved him. And he expressed it with a mindful, self sacrificing Love. God is Love. (((Warm Hugsxxx)))
