Loved By Sophie

My cocker spaniel will be despondent tomorrow
For I am returning to school for an eight hour day
Worse, I made plans for the evening

Sophie will curl up in my blankets, smelling me,
Wishing I was here, until she falls asleep
She has a little step stool to get up on the bed

My husband will watch her while he works
When I return home she will hopefully still love me
And forgive me …..

Dogs don't have memories like we do, Caren, she will love you and forgive you:)

She does now; for sure. She is "all about Mommy".

Caren, I am absolutely certain she will. Dogs have a way of forgetting those sad times. She'll greet you with her usual waggin tail,...yes!

She will be so excited when I return home today, but she will be irritated when I leave again tomorrow.
