Love You Know Not
Like the force of gravity
Love surrounds us
attracting everything to its core,
The more you cut and chip it away
Like a diamond
more brilliant it shines,
The more you beat it down
on the anvil like a sword
sharper it gets,
Like the string of a bow
the more you pull towards you
further it shoots the arrow,
Like a jealous wife
The more you try to please her
more suspicious she gets.
You cannot wish love away—
You ignore love at your own peril.
