Love You Know Not

Like the force of gravity Love surrounds us attracting everything to its core, The more you cut and chip it away Like a diamond more brilliant it shines, The more you beat it down on the anvil like a sword sharper it gets, Like the string of a bow the more you pull towards you further it shoots the arrow, Like a jealous wife The more you try to please her more suspicious she gets. You cannot wish love away— You ignore love at your own peril. ~Contest: The Meaning of Love ~Sponsor: Anoucheka Gangabissoon

Very true Abdul. I can relate to your fifth stanza so well. My husband’s first wife was like that and I don’t think she ever found happiness. He never had to worry with me. I enjoyed your winning poem my friend. Congratulations! Blessings xxoo
