Love Who?

I can’t see amidst the darkness
Can’t make out the figure standing before me
My mentality has been damaged
Yet, I manage
But why?
Must I continue?
So many times have I felt the urge
The urge to cry
Only they would not flow
They remain trapped inside
Just as the feelings that I feel
If only the ears can be set free
But who would want to do that?
If no one even wants to speak to me,
Who would dare come close enough to free my tears?
What am I afraid of?
Could it be rejection,
Or would it be pain?
There is only one who could bring the relief that I need
We have met before, but briefly
Each encounter we had was cut short
It was some time ago
So my heart doesn’t remember her
Neither does my soul
I tried to jog their memory,
But they only drew blanks
I told them she was the only one to make me happy
And that her name was Love
My heart and soul both responded
Love Who?
