Love Was Never Lost

A chance meeting,
That she would never forget,
Was it love at first sight,
Or a glimpse of eternity,
A heartbeat of love,
That lit up her world,
At that point,
She needed love,
Love caught hold of her,
In her despair,
Despair reached out,
In her loneliness,
Loneliness held on,
In her emptiness,
Emptiness had gone,
In her hunger,
Hunger was all she relied upon,
Her hand reached out,
The hands of love held on,
In desperation and hopelessness,
Love was strong,
In a twinkle of an eye,
All unhappiness and sadness had gone,
Love had caught on,
Now love forever belonged,
She owned it.
It was hers.
It loved her,
She had learnt to love,
Love was all she needed to carry on,
She thought love was lost,
What she didn't realise,
Love was always hers,
Love was never lost,
