Love Unspoken

"I love you" was withheld
for lies weren't to be told.
To make this statement bold,
(too hastily expelled)
sin nature must be quelled.
Who can this task uphold?

Cautious with statements vain,
(no room left for error
as love's image bearer)
we claim not to attain
such love for truth of stain.
(Threat of the ensnarer.)

Yet we pray to show love
so that we may know love.
