Love To the Rescue

Will you be there by my side when I call
Whenever I stumble, falter and fall?

What must be done? What will betide?
When paths are strewn with thorns all along
and clouds of doubt unfold dire and strong?
How in our hearts love would forever abide
to prompt our thoughts and be our guide,
Ah, on the days when all things go wrong?

You may but tear down
a citadel or a much
revered monument; And then
rebuild. Break not a
heart. It’s an abode of love,
fragile as a crystal vase.
