Love Through Life
She covers her lips with red lipstick. Then the gloss.
Jewels covers her face.
She feels the only pride she has left is the jewels she wears.
Treasures inherited from her loving mother.
A wealthy woman.
A man offers to take me out. I decline.
He pauses in awe, words escaped him.
I am a lady. How dare you! My heart is full of love.
You treat me like a common street walker.
Yes, I shine like glitter and gold.
My worth is priceless. No one could afford.
This is me. It’s who I am. I love through life. Good. Bad.
