Love Over a Fortnight

Love over a fortnight, who would have known Our eyes met once, that's all it took to show Your soul that's lost, so gentle and meek A heart that's broken, solace it seeks Your glance, your laugh; I'll always remember I've accepted the chances of you and I were slender A little naive and proud, I always have been To believe in a side of you none have seen You came fast as a hurricane to my heart Swiftly you left, I wish we stayed at the start Had you known this, would it have made a difference? Once eager hellos, ended in a few sentences Yet if I see you someday, it won't be a regret It's passion, it's almost silly, it's unrequited With a smile, one day I'll reminisce when You taught my heart to beat faster again
