Love of My Life
Who would have thought
a lifetime ago that easily slips away
sifted through the nonsense, truth and lies
of emotion and experience
that teaches lessons to remember
and reveal a love forever since,
unmatched, unable
to live again with any other pairing.
Where and how did those days disappear
so fast and quick escaping
the memory begins to fear faltering
with the years now passed
and time locked in our visions
of two becoming one.
It is in these lonely hours
when time is mine alone
that the reality lives
you were and are forever
the one and only one
the love of my life.
