Love Myself

I will learn to love myself
Even when the days are hardest
I will learn to love myself
Even if I'm not the smartest

For I am a uniquely special person
With talents of no one else
I am valuable in society
No one can take that from myself

I am perfect with all my mistakes and flaws
No matter what anyone says
I will love myself louder than the voices
Even the ones inside of my head

It can be so much easier to love others
Than it is to love oneself
We judge ourselves so harshly
A library of mistakes, full of shelves

If we say things to ourselves
What we wouldn't say to our worst enemy
Why do we believe it?
There's so much good inside of me

And to my friends who read this
Know that you are all those too
That you brighten up my world of darkness
And everything surrounding you
