Love Me Like You Mean It
The night was stormy
The rain lashing against my windows
And the thunder,
Deafening my senses!
I,
Lost and agonising,
Tossed and turned in my bed
Seeking to find
The meaning of life
As
The material realm
Laden with illusory tricks
Has had me losing my grip on it!
I closed my eyes
Tumbled over in a black hole
Only to gaze
At God,
Bright and shining
Calm and serene
Bold and beautiful
Full of mercy and made of delights!
What do you seek, asked He?
Love me like you mean it, said I to Him
Love me
With my flaws, with my madness,
With my beauty, with my creativity,
With my uniqueness,
With my own essence!
Love me and allow me not to shed tears
Give me not any more tests
Give me that which I seek!
And what is it that you seek? asked God
That I see You and be with You
For as long as You do be
That I fall not back into this world of laments
That I remain by Your side
For as long as You would want me to!
That would imply killing you,
And taking your spirit with me, said He.
Please,
May it be so,
I have had enough of agonising
If my place be not here,
Then, surely,
It must be with You
Take me away,
Allow me to be back there
From where I fell
Allow me to gleam
Always
With Your love like you mean it!
