Love Me For Me

We built a friendship out of dreams and fairytale endings.
Where anything is possible if you believe in dreaming.
A world only we knew and no one else.
Where waterfalls ran free and birds sang sweet melodies. 
You’re a friend and a friend you’ll stay. 
So, love me for me and not yesterday. 
I am not perfect
I have flaws and imperfections.
I am shy and quiet. 
I may get depressed on occasion
I may slip up and say something I did not mean. 
I am impulsive and can be irrational as you've seen.
But no one is perfect, don’t you see. 
Love me for who I am 
Not who you want me to be. 
All I ask is love me for me.
