Notes About The Poem

Love Lost in Time

I'm a spy in the house of time.
I'm the fool in these words of rhyme.
'Twas there I saw in your blue eyes
the dawning of a rose sunrise.
Moonbeams once shone on tousled hair,
but I'd no longer be seeing you there.
Dancing dreams of chantilly lace
disappeared with the image of your face.
Like a ghost, ever wand'ring these halls,
I'm blinded to the writing on the walls.
In spectral form, walls, I cannot touch,
as even as your fingertips, I want so much.
Searching for a happier song,
wondering, where - in the world, I went wrong.
Find me in time, looking for an absent sign.
Tell me again that you'll be mine.

Thanks, Andrea! Quite literally thank you. I think this was the one that you pointed out my original entry was way over the line limit, so I wrote this new one which I think was better! I'm out of my slump!

Wow I love this one. A fave! It kind of reminds me of the Wuthering Heights movie I am waiting to see. But if course not psychotic like Heathcliff was . Haha

Thanks, Andrea! So far, the only versions of Wuthering Heights that I've seen are the 1939 one with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon - one when I was about 19 and once a few years ago. I like movies from that era. I also read the book, sounds like you may have too. I felt Heathcliff's psychosis was much more pronounced in the book - lol.
