Love Like a Flower
Love Like a Flower
Love is a rose, but you'd better not pick it
Only grows when it's on the vine
Handful of thorns and you know you've missed it
Lose your love when you say the word mine
Love Is a Rose sung by Linda Ronstat
A delicate flower surrounded by thorns.
Dare we reach in and pluck it?
If we do, will it die?
Can it survive without the life
giving water of sacrifice.
Can we reach through the thorns
hate and selfishness to enjoy
the perfume that drifts freely
into the sir. If we pluck it will
the flower wilt and the aroma dissipate?
Why should we spoil something so joyous
and take it for ourselves.
Love is meant to be shared but not at
the cost of its life.
