Love Letters

Love letters sent in times of old
With careful words so written bold
And yet there were words hidden there
So many thoughts of her despair…

When in his arms she’d be again
If only she could know just when
On the surface her words were clear
But in between were words of fear.

She must not let him see her pain
That thru the war their love would wane
But when the war did finally end
It vanquished all the doubt she penned!

Love letters finally put away
When he came home, resolved to stay.
