Love, less of why, more despite it all

I wonder what it is that you like me.
An alien eye if looks me nigh longer,
It upsets you all day as I can see,
And you simmer what with suppresst anger.
I know, I feel your feelings innermost--
A fair taste of orange juice sour and sweet,
And still, why in our spats I’ve always lost?
Maybe, in strange ways you get your goals hit.
I’d paint your love like a sudden shower,
A fruit with a hard husk, sweet-soft inside,
Strange floral fragrance wafting from far bower,
And yet, the truth may reside far aside,
For, love’s less of why, more despite it all,
As if from vague within cometh its call.
