Love Is Nature, Nature Is Love

LOVE IS NATURE, NATURE IS LOVE

and surely man is no inferior flower
to die unworthy of a second spring?
(John Clare – The Instinct of Hope)

The landscape is tranquil, peaceful and calm
Rolling shades of green sprinkle the velvet hills
Myriads of blushing flowers brighten the spirit
Nature likes it that way

The brook follows the path of least resistance
It does not confront obstacles
It embraces them
Nature knows not war

My eye follows the brook’s meandering path
A Monarch jig-jaggedly flies in view
Its life will shortly come to an end but
That’s Nature’s way too

I hear the water caressing the rocks,
Whispering sweet, murmuring, quiet sounds
Its watery arms embrace smooth stones
Filling the cracks between them

A dark brown, brittle dry leaf
Detached by a tender wind
Floats and softly lands on a broken twig
The leaf remembers where it came from

This is Nature making love with passion
Subtleties, significant as breathing in and out,
Go unnoticed, but are relevant
As Life unfolds its evolution

When we make love, who sees us?
Sometimes we don’t even see each other
Often forgetting that love is giving,
Tender, nurturing and healing

Nature knows this
Nature pursues harmony
And seeks constancy
We could learn from nature.
