Love Is Divine (Rosarian Sonnet)

Beneath a sky of blazing stars I see
that love is possible for you and me
and in the solitude of this dark night
I lower shields that guard around my heart
so love can pull the clouds of tears apart.

My passions want has been restrained too long,
my dreams contained by fears of siren song,
where all is darkness, never seeing light.
Bewildered senses battered and confused
until your touch could heal a heart so bruised.

Your gift of love I shall always treasure
and as I feel your lips now caress mine
I know for certain our love is divine
and lifts our souls beyond worldly measure.
