Love Is Deaf Not Blind

To expect love is selfish Though being human it is so To love means to give to others Putting all their needs above To open up to love shows courage A vulnerability which each person masks So they won't have to defend themselves When the other person holds or pulls back To simply say you love someone It just is not enough You must prove the words you say For love is truly deaf Love is an action It's something that you do Taking care of anothers heart Before you do yours I do not believe love is blind For you're able to see into their souls To love them truly You must also choose to love all of their flaws If you ever have the privilege If someone allows you inside Tend to it often So the love never dies
