Love In Newby Wood

A new love in Newby Wood,
having thrown off the old one.
Fate took me there with dog,
and crossing, there met John.

Fido sniffed the leaves long time,
while John stood there to know me.
A new love in Newby Wood,
and John will stay, I know it!

He chatted to me long on dogs,
and dog-love is my token...
Long time before we left the wood,
and John gave me his number.

Fido lingered long in wood,
and I had to go and get it.
Normally, I'd tell it off,
but I'm head on heels love over.
