Love Hunt

Love notes posted on laminate:
Revisiting thoughts persistent;
Staring at head-lights
Driving through stary nights.

Stuck in motion--
Longing for somekind of devotion;
Sinking memories flood over me
Like a deluge of forbidden fantasies.

Rampant voices of love & romance
Visit me like a long lost lover;
Rumaging through boxes
Of old love letters & yellowed photographs,
Telegraphs feelings I can't explain.

Maybe I've been numb for far too long:
Maybe I've forgotten what it means to give yourself away,
To someone you can trust; someone you can picture growing old with.
I know what my heart's been yearning for--
A love whose shoulders I can rest my soul upon.
