Love has made me blind

New eyes I'd never seen
Caught my attention like no other
A new voice, unfamiliar-
A voice I wanted to know.

A look, a smile, a wave,
And a "hey."
A voice that was now familiar,
And sounded like no other.

From every now and then
To always together-
A stranger I never thought I'd know
Is now the person I never leave alone.

A walk, a talk, a call... and I fall-
To fall hard, to fall fast,
Forgetting there's always a bottom.

The voice I love to hear
Now slips from my ear.
No smile, no wave-
When my eyes meet theirs, they look away.

To fall hard, to fall fast-
I never thought they would live in my past.
To be loved is to be seen.
To be loved is the dream.

But love I cannot find,
For love has made me blind

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
