Love Gone By

Remembrances of my beloved son and
Old photos mounted on tears of time;
Misty images of happy days gone by,
Accuse me now of an unforgiving crime.
Nevermore to be relived,
Those moments of cherished bliss:
If I could just one mistake have back,
Could he forgive me my remiss?

Line, you keep outdoing yourself. This one is six months old already---although 'old' is perhaps a word better suited to me than to my poems... Thank you! ~ Gershon

A truly poignant and touching write Gershon. I'm sure he does and will always do - life is made up of mistakes which are really lessons in learning ...Maria

You're so right, Maria...Sometimes, of course, the damage can't be done, no matter how well we've learned the lesson and mended our ways. This case, a true story, is one of those kind of lessons, unfortunately. Warm wishes! :-) Gershon

Oh Gershon, this heartbreak is expressed in such beautiful and powerful poignancy. Your emotional imagery resonates in the four chambers of my heart. Exquisitely tender and moving. Warmest wishes my friend. ~Susan

Thank you for your kind, kind words. I'm thrilled that it moved you, as that's what I've always felt poetry is supposed to do: Touch hearts and move people. Warm wishes to you! :-)

I don't know if you'll see this or not, but I accidentally deleted your comment on the poem, "Holy,"...I had replied, thanking you and saying that I really tried to keep that one historical, i.e., not 'politically charged,' and that I appreciated your noticing it. :)

Thank you, Silent One. It's a true story, unfortunately: One of those 'lessons' from which to learn---but the mistake of which can't be repaired...
