Love For Sale

Midnight's hollow streets Rolls Royce crushes cigarette butts Sinful, cold drizzle of animalistic desire Lurks on shadowy corners of locked buildings For a price, negotiable.. Balconies bear yesterday's broken beads A jazz musician is soundly asleep So much hard numbness in those easy to open bottles... It rains over useless signs: Do Not Park On Bridge! Skid marks end in despair A street light dies totally alone The City keeps on pulsating hopes of togetherness In a Midnight's hollow streets Full of happy windows...

If you ever read the Bible check out Hebrews 13:5 "I will never leave you nor forsake you" ...a ray of sunshine in our world that you described so thoroughly :)

A time hidden by darkness of night and yet..... the picture you paint through the use of your words is very descriptive; beautiful imagery.

Great write Iolanda! Great imagery! Driving by in a car, through all big cities, funny how all such streets look the same and have that vibe on a cold rainy night! Good job! Peace and love, Audrey

Iolanda, This poem is intense. The imagery is great. You have handled a difficult theme extremely well. It reminds me of Bourbon street. Every aspect covered. Excellent write. (And thanks for commenting on my poetry.) Lovingly, Dane Ann
