Love Everlasting

LOVE EVERLASTING
Just like the things we knew in times before,
  here is your heart--your shining eyes--your smile,
your presence brings me to forevermore,
  and tears apart my life--for just a while--

I see them all, and laughter turns to tears,
  because I know--in living, we must cry--
and heed the call--that leads us through the years,
  we have to go along with love--or die!

From any place, the laughter is the same,
   my soul regrets that love will grow, then fade,
and set the pace--though I recall your name,
  my heart forgets the love your presence made

  until I feel I've loved you in the past,
  when we were real, although it didn't last.
