Love Dies

I have felt the sting of your hurtful words
I have cried a thousand tears
I have lived to long in your world
I have tried to change you for fifteen years

You used your anger to control
Your hands to hit not to love me
Now you want to know why I have to go
Why I want to be free

Now it is over and done
you want me back promising you will do right
But I hung on to long
I don't want you to hold me tight

I wish sometimes we could have had a good marriage
But our love died long ago
You wanted to treat me like a little bird and lock me in a cage
Well this little bird has to spread her wings don't you know
