Love Could Have Suspended the Rules

Love can suspend the rules
If you knew where I've been
Things that I have seen
The pain and hurt
Losing to win!
You might have maintained a love
That was tainted with fear
Because love can suspend the rules!

If you could walk in my shoes to
See how it feels
You might have changed your mind!
It was easier for you to leave
I rolled up my sleeve because
I was going to cleave to you for life!
You were my best friend and
My future wife but
I never thought the knife of deceit
Could creep in and look so real!

I misread the situation but
If you knew where I've been
Things that I have seen
The pain and hurt
Losing to win
You might have maintained a love
That was tainted with fear
Because love can suspend the rules!

Emotive and expressive work you have penned in this one. Betrayal is so destructive but there are people who are faithful to the end. Creative write. Sara
