Love Cancer
Like a birds wings love is to be free
spread wide, leaping across oceans
& desserts alike.
Meant to be beautiful & prosper
without hiddenness.
However there is evidence of a
blight that has taken root in certain
men’s hearts & minds; as the
creation of the closet rots their
insides, leaving them wilting like
candles burned profound.
They say that the love they share
was never meant to be,
They say we’re separate, but equal,
yet separate but equal is not equal;
They turn blindly away from our
outcries, as if to say goodbye.
I always thought love was like a
birds wings, its destiny to be free-
spread wide, leaping across oceans
and desserts alike
they’re sun will never rise to bring
the dawn, it chooses to lay porched-
drunk
forgetting always,
of the blood spilled before it.
It forgets always…
