Love and Hate

You and I have parted loud and bitter
Our love is long since dead
Yet happy times together
Still swirl within my head

How could our love so perfect
So beautiful and strong
Disintegrate to nothing
And like a dream be gone.

Why Fate has played this trick on us
I cannot understand
Our love to last forever
Has vanished in a quicksand

Although feelings in me
Bring up hate and fury
The music in the background
Still plays our Love’s Story.

Was I so blind I did not see
Love slipping through the door.
Stealthily it stole away without any sign of haste
It left behind an empty love with its bitter taste.
