Love Addict

Some kindness a day keeps the devil in my head away
Whispering I’m useless,
an anxiety fuelled love addict
Who will always be alone
Mad with the misery of my mistakes

But if I vanquish the devil with the same weapon that is my undoing;
if I fire love in this fractured world
Through small bullets of goodness
Then I’m still a love addict
But I’m not ashamed of it
It brings peace to this war I bring on myself.
