Love

I was silent.
I was all silence at that special time.
and wished time would stop.
your eyes and their brown,
unique symphony.
then we went down hand in hand to the beach.
that winter.
the winds maddening the waves.
we came back hugging when it got dark,
the cold keeping us close.
then the moon dared among the clouds.
a satellite slowly crossed the sky.
and an owl.
you know we're doomed,
she asked smiling.
it was with urgency that we loved each other that night.
and when the day dawned and we were in love,
it was the sun that blessed our tired bodies.
