Louder Than Words
You didn’t have to send it in a letter,
Or even need to call me on the phone.
You didn’t go and shout it from a mountain,
Or take the time to chisel it in stone.
Indifference speaks louder than words.
A kettle whistles, no one’s pouring.
The TV’s on while someone’s snoring.
A match is struck, but nothing’s burning.
A message sent, but none returning.
Indifference speaks louder than words.
