Lotus Bloom

Strange Water Lily, your petals delicate as a rainbow. Seeing your wonder in this moment eases dark memories, yet there in clear water below your black, feathered roots appear strangely sinister. Suzanne Delaney

Oooh I think I'll have to add this to my favorites. The description was so poignant it almost felt like if I dared to touch the lotus bloom it would bit me like a venus fly trap - my imagination likes to run away with me. It also kinda reminds me of one of my favorite haiku - I believe the author was either Issa or Buson - in this world/we walk on the roof of hell/gazing at flowers.

Ah Suz, my kind of poem that conveys the beauty with the contrast of view above and below! Wonderful! I hope you will share this with PFT. Hugs, Connie #7

The image is clear, and sets a mood that is strangely and quietly unsettling. Well done, Suzanne. You are very gifted ! ps...soupmail coming to you!
