Lost To the Sea

Shells stir and shift underfoot, Crushed, fracturing like fine teacups Turned brittle by the salt and sun. You may well be anywhere, Where the day doesn’t reach and The waves my toes make can’t sing you to sleep, But keep in mind always that Everything we lose to the sea Will be found, one day, By another’s shore.

Wonderful alliterations! Poems about the ocean are always gratifying to me; they remind me of Dylan Thomas' sea imagery. Well done Annie!! Best wishes, Keith. (PS thanks for your visit!)

Annie, a lovely little poem. There is always some little "treasures" finding along the beach. I often come home with something in my pockets. Fine stones .... lovely shells. oxox love Anne-Lise :)
