Lost Spring

What if spring hadn't come this year? What if we'd jumped smack into summer? BUMMER! I'm thinking of Schumann's Spring Symphony - If such a thing had happened to him There would be no Spring Symphony I'm thinking of Beethoven's Spring Sonata Same thing - I'm thinking of all the rosy poetry Hey!....no Berlin's "Easter bonnet with all the frills upon it" I'm thinking of lovers on park benches Keeping each other warm on a slightly chill May night Thinking of scadzillions of little green zits on starved tree branches How that first warm breeze smiles the system from head to toe to one great gulp of joyous laughter What if summer doesn't come this year? Worry about that later SPRING IS HERE!

This is cute and YAY Spring is here! Well it's supposed to be here, but tell that to the weatherman who said we are supposed to get *SNOW* tonight! LOL Doesn't that snow know it's time to go already? Sheesh! haha :P Love this one about spring, especially the references to Spring songs, I thought that made it just perfect and the ending is right on! Love, Amy :)

Daver, I'm glad spring provides a quiet period of peace before summer's heat. Great upbeat tempo in this poem. Awesome words: "scadzillions of little green zits on starved tree branches." These starving trees feed allergies. In Florida, winter turns to summer almost overnight and I'm aching from sunburn. Your poem makes me miss the "true" springs I knew when I lived in New Jersey. Thanks for your comments on my new poems. Much love, Carolyn

Sometimes up here where we live, spring almost gets lost ....between bitter cold, and freakin' hot. We'll take any second of spring fever that we can get!! This was a poem to make me smile!! ~Carrie

OMG, Ok my favorite line "...scadzillions of little green zits on starved tree branches..." Only you Daver, could possibly come up with a line like that. In fact, the whole wonderful poem, the music, the enthusiasm, the life - it has YOU written all over it! Ta Da Aweasome!!! We still have about 9 inches of snow, but if you say Spring is here, I believe ya! Love, Shar

Daver you are so funny. Spring is one of my favorite seasons and it does seem like it gets skipped sometimes. Green zits, don't know about ya kid.
