Lost Memories

I’ll never get to heaven or even to L.A.
I know I hold grudges but I never get my way
You’re out there living the American dream
While I’m sitting here alone trying to be me
You make fun of everything I do
But everything is for you
I wish I could smile
It’s been such a long while
I have nightmares when I sleep
Now all I ever do is weep
I’ve got a lot on my mind
I still secretly wish you could have been mine
