Lost Love

I remember the day that I walked away,
my mind was made up and would not sway.
Life with you in the end was so unbearable,
every day I would wake feeling so terrible.

In the beginning we were always side by side,
but over the years our love just died.
I don't know what happen only that you wanted to be free,
the only thing holding us together in the end was me.

We ended up on different paths never seeing eye to eye,
I wanted to settle down while you were out with other men getting high.
There's only so much pain one man can take,
I think giving you to much freedom was my mistake.

You can't change the past so just keep doing what you do,
but you were my first love and I will always love you.
