Love or Bust

Premier Contest by Karen Jones

LOST LOVE

Tingling passion arose as you came close.
Romance rolled to tell ‘we would not stay apart.’
Unfolding your wish you dared to propose.
Emotive urge surged to flow from you to my heart.

Territory of amour was built in vain.
Coward in guise of lover came and relation coiled.
         Love terminated in piercing pain.
I was devoted, it seemed everything spoiled.

I was too young to endure getting devastated
As I grew old, realised my innocence and infatuation.
I proceeded on my way, no more being frustrated.
I drove away feeling of emotional exploitation.

Attaining maturity, I met true love in later life.
Built my successful career and perfect family.
I learned to accept any challenge, while in strife !
Now proud mother, fulfilled ambition , living happily.
