Lost Love

Songs of love are sung no more
bridal flowers
lie on the floor
in the garden
weeps the maid
as visions of a wedding fade

Lost a lover to the sea
blissful life
was not to be
mourning doves
cry out his name
in ocean's arms his soul is lain

Bring him home on angel wing
where the gentle larks do sing
bury him near
ebbing tide
where he met
his perfect bride

This sounds like the song of a lovely, ancient tale....or a Charlotte Bronte novel...something that I would love to read and have a huge sob-fest!! So beautiful, yet sad! Great job, Valerie! ~ Carrie
