Lost Love

Moonless nights haunt me
They scare me and they taunt me
Memories they bring me
That I want to forget

For it was on such a night
My love was lost from my sight
Though I tried with all my might
She never did return

As she turned and walked away
She said there's nothing more to say
Except I cant go on this way
Then disappeared into that night

For many a year I have tried
Many a day I have cried
But I never should have lied
I know that's why she's gone

Moonless nights haunt me still
With memories my head they fill
And I think they always will
For I've lost her forever
