Lost Love

I sat under the trees tonight
Watching the stars play in the leaves,
I could see the shadows in your hair
As if you were here with me at last.

I still think of you so often
And wonder where you are right now,
I think of how we would talk and gaze
Into each other's eyes for hours.

Now that I am older, my love
I miss you all the more,
I love you just as I did before,
Your face is always with me here.

Death took you too soon,
I will love you until I die.

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. Heartbreaking and beautiful tribute to your love. Imagery in the first verse is so lovely and sets an ethereal atmosphere. Well written. Love, Shar
